The Diamond Shop’s Managing Director arrived in New Zealand from the USA in 1976 with his wife Linda. Win’s first business involved importing and retailing art and antiques in Auckland. After selling this business Win joined a local jewellery company which he assisted with expansion during his directorship. In 1994 Win formed The Diamond Shop and directs operations from the retail shop located at 280 Queen Street in Auckland. The Diamond Shop has grown to become one of New Zealand’s leading diamond and jewellery dealers having sold “The Star of New Zealand” the first million dollar diamond sold in this country. Win believes his company’s expansion into the E Commerce diamond business is the perfect balance and fit with a successful, established, trusted and traditional bricks and mortar jewellery business.

DAN ROBINSON

Dan Robinson, a New Zealander, joined The Diamond Shop in May 2006 as General Manager. Prior to joining The Diamond Shop Dan lived in French Polynesia for 14 years and managed Tahiti’s most successful black pearl retail business. Dan and his Tahitian wife Brigitte decided to educate their two sons in New Zealand and therefore returned to Dan’s homeland in 2006.
Since joining The Diamond Shop Dan has continued his passion for gemology by completing his GIA (Gemological Institute of America) certificate in Diamonds to add to his GIA certificate in Pearls. Dan’s ongoing education continues with his GIA course in Diamond Grading.
Dan is also a student in languages having received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Auckland University majoring in the Italian language. And Dan brings additional language skills to the table as he is also fluent in French and Tahitian.
Since joining The Diamond Shop Dan’s expertise and contacts in the diamond industry have expanded exponentially. Dan attends most major international jewellery fairs to expand his experience and has recently sold a large and very rare fancy pink diamond. Dan was also involved with selling New Zealand’s first million dollar diamond ‘The Star of New Zealand’. See In The News

NICOLA BAKER

Nicola Baker has been dealing in fine jewellery for more than 15 years. Earning her stripes in the premises of her jeweller father, she can barely remember a time when jewellery wasn’t her passion. “I don’t remember a time when jewellery wasn’t part of my life,” Nicola says. “While most kids were learning their four times tables, I was learning my four 'Cs'.
Nicola’s GIA Diamond Grading Diploma proves the extent of her expertise, but her greatest achievement is the string of thrilled clients for whom she’s tailor-made pieces. “Making a decision about a piece of jewellery is not one that most people take lightly, so when someone is about to buy a ring or other item that will last a lifetime, it’s an absolute privilege to be a part of that memorable moment.”
As diamond specialist, store manager and co-designer at The Diamond Shop, Nicola is able to ensure that every piece that leaves the store is perfect for its new owner.
With her trademark bubbly personality and a commitment to customer satisfaction rarely seen today, Nicola loves the lasting client relationships. “Our clients enjoy receiving quality gems and quality service – it’s what keeps them coming back,” Nicola explains. “We have many families who have purchased through The Diamond Shop for generations and will continue to do so. My goal is to find exactly the right piece of jewellery for every client, whether it’s a first pair of earrings, an engagement ring, or a unique gift for a special occasion. Regardless of their budget or experience in buying jewellery, I always give my clients the benefit of my experience.”
 

ANNIE CHUNG-MUI

Annie Chung-Mui has worked at The Diamond Shop for over 17 years and has been in the jewellery industry for over 40 years. This demonstrates her level of commitment, integrity and passion about jewellery. She applies these three qualities to every one of her customers, ensuring that they make informed decisions. 
Prior to working for The Diamond Shop Annie ran her own Watch and Jewellery Company in Hong Kong, and her company was awarded runners-up in the Hong Kong Tourism Industry Courtesy Programme, which was voted by all satisfied customers. She has a diploma in Jewellery Design issued by the International Association of Gemmology. She also has extensive experience in grading and stringing South Sea and Tahitian black pearls.
Annie works three days a week at The Diamond Shop (Monday, Tuesday, Friday). She has gained a large number of satisfied clients throughout these years, especially Asians, as she speaks both Mandarin and Cantonese as well as English. You will be sure to appreciate her patient service, her knowledge in diamonds and pearls and Annie's design suggestions.

ANN McCLURE

Ann McClure worked at The Diamond Shop for 5 years before retiring in 2009 to embark on a two year European sojourn. Deciding to return to New Zealand to be closer to her Australian children & grandchildren Ann was invited to rejoin The Diamond Shop team.
Ann’s parents migrated from the UK to South Africa when she was a child & she remembers helping out in her Mother’s gift shop which also sold Italian jewellery. Ann says “ever since then I have loved jewellery and over the years I have collected some very nice pieces”
After working for many years in Sydney at a jewellery store on Castlereagh Street, Ann decided to move to Auckland following an enjoyable holiday in New Zealand.
Ann has been involved in sales and hospitality her whole life, she just loves meeting & helping people fulfill their desires. Ann works part time in the shop taking off in the winter months to pursue her other loves which are music, travel and sunshine; to satisfy the gypsy in her soul.

Aitu Burgess joined the Diamond Shop Team in 2009 as weekend Manager working in sales and administration.
Prior to joining the team Aitu has managed her family business for 19 years manufacturing & wholesaling jewellery in NZ and exporting overseas.
She has also been involved in wholesaling black pearl jewellery for over 5 years selecting pieces for her overseas clients and travelling to Fiji training staff. Aitu is from Rotuma Island in Fiji. She speaks Rotuman, Fijian and English.
