DIAMOND COLOURDiamonds can be found in almost any colour. The less colour (whiter) a diamond has, the more valuable it is. Generally, diamonds range from completely colourless to light yellow and brown. A diamond’s normal colour range is graded by a letter system. The best colour (whitest) is given the letter “D”. This system ends at “Z”. Starting at “L” a light yellowish tint can be noticeably seen. Diamonds that do not fit within the normal colour range are known as fancy colour. Fancy coloured diamonds can come in many different colours and tones such as intense to light yellow, blue or pink.
The Diamond Shop Colour RecommendationThe Diamond Shop recommends the colours D,E,F,G for those wanting the more expensive diamonds; and H,I,J for those looking for an acceptable colour range but lower prices. |
