Brilliant Cut: A specific gemstone that is cut with triangular or kite-shaped facets that radiate from the centre towards the girdle and that has exactly 58 facets (including the culet).  The most popular shape is the round brilliant cut however a brilliant cut can have several shapes including oval, radiant, pear or heart-shaped.
