WIN'S TIPS & EXPERT ADVICE FOR DIAMOND BUYERSImportant - To those purchasing a diamond for engagement purposes. The diamond represents approximately 90% of the cost of a diamond engagement ring.
Women place great emphasis on the ring’s style. Therefore we recommend you purchase the ring locally as this is both romantic and enjoyable. This process gives your fiancée the opportunity to have personal input to the ring she will be wearing and enhance her engagement experience. However, if you know the style of ring she wants we can provide it for you and have it made in our workshops. We are happy to design and hand make rings in platinum, 18K white and yellow gold or 9K gold.
Educate yourself before you make your purchase. This can be achieved by reading appropriate material, talking to trusted and knowledgeable retailers, using the internet, and reading this advice page!
It is my experience that untrained buyers tend to focus on the diamonds clarity, as it is easily understood. We recommend clarity grades not higher than VS1 and not lower than SI2. The reason is that within this range you achieve best value for money as this clarity range will not affect the diamond's brilliance. Clarity grading of VVS and higher command substantial price increases without an increase in perceptible brilliance. However The Diamond Shop are happy to supply any diamond grade you require. You are welcome to call us toll free on 0800 888 757 or visit us at our Auckland shop-open 7 days. Diamonds have consistently increased in value over the past 20 years due to the tightly controlled world market. There are very few investments you can make that:
1. Consistently appreciate in value. |
